And for those interested in local art from the late 20th century, we have a fine collection of works by both Jon Kodwyck and Jim Mickelson.

These just keep turning up…

Yet another painting by the late Newburyport artist, Jim Mickelson, has found its way to our gallery. This one comes from a collector in Rhode Island. It is undated, but we think it probably was painted while Jim was in Rockport, prior to his moving to Newburyport. The painting is in pretty good shape, and would appear to have been well cared for.

Recently in our gallery

Two paintings by Jim Mickelson were recently brought into our gallery. Both date to the early 1980s and were painted by Jim while he was living in Newburyport, MA. The sailboat painting is very clean, but does show some minor craquelure. The beach scene could probably benefit from a very light cleaning. Both are excellent examples of his work and may be seen in our gallery.
